Utility settings for tenants.

3 minute read.

Customize each address so tenants know what to do.

Property Managers can disable or enable utilities for each address. Disabling a utility means the tenant will not see that utility as an option to turn on.

The disable or enable feature exists in your "Synced Listings" section of the platform. Read more below.

How it works:

1. In the "Synced Listings" section, on the right side click the blue "Edit" link.
2. In the Edit window, each utility can be Disabled or Enabled. Disable the utilities the tenant does NOT need to set up in their name.
3. Then click "Confirm" at the bottom to save the settings.

FAQs

Should I disable internet?

No. Internet should be kept as enabled unless it's included in the rent.

Disabling a utility means the tenant will not see it at all, and internet is the main way you will make revenue.

If sewer is part of the water, or gas is part of electric, should I disable it?

Yes, if you know a utility is part of another utility, it's best to keep the main utility enabled and have the others disabled. For example you would disable the sewer and keep water enabled. Another example is you would disable gas if it's part of electric.

Does the system know to stop messaging a tenant if the utility is disabled?

Yes, the auto-reminder system will stop the texts/emails as long as the renter has completed all "Enabled" utilities.
